Chase Avenue Elementary, A School of Innovation and Inquiry. . .

We were happy to welcome Superintendent Dr. Miyashiro, Board Member Tamara Otero and Assistant Principal Daniela Ruiz-Jo to Chase Avenue last week.  Above all, students and staff at Chase are excited to get back to work after the break!  This year at Chase all students are working on an “Innovation Project” each trimester using a problem-based learning approach.  Projects included a range of explorations from impacts to Monarch butterfly habitats to water treatment solutions for our world. Students and teachers are just getting started with a second project launch in January.

Students have also been enthusiastically exploring our enrichment wheel this year.  All students experience the Worlds of Work, CODE, Robotics and Design through bi-weekly enrichment classes.   Along with the New Year, Chase also welcomed 25 new EAK students upon returning from break. Our young learners and their teacher, Ms. Guppy have made a smooth transition and are excited about learning!
