Jamacha Hawks enjoyed another opportunity to showcase our hard work during David’s visit. It was evident in all classrooms that we’ve had a terrific start to the school year. Scholars were enthusiastically learning and productively contributing. Evidence was seen of our embracement of Hattie’s Research: posted learning intentions and success criteria, visible learning charts and activities, and engaged students who can articulate what they’re learning.
Evidence was seen of our increasing collaboration around Writers’ Workshop – from student independent writing posted on the walls to common anchor charts to support scholars as they engage in rigorous writing opportunities, mini-lessons, and conferences. We even saw some writing conferences in action!
Here’s David’s comments after our visit (please check out his dancing skills with our kindergartners: “I’m still in a super happy mood after an uplifting visit with the Hawks! Hard to believe we’re still in the first month of school. What an amazing start!”
We are poised for an incredible year! Kudos, and keep up the excellent efforts! K
